ESD thermoformed trays
Thermoformed trays hold components in fixed positions and organise them between work steps. The trays are made of polystyrene and black, referred to as thermoformed trays or deep-drawn trays.
They are available dissipative, dissipative/conductive and conductive. The difference lies in the material and is given in the product text. You will find larger containers in ESD containers and inserts, and the overview in ESD storage and transport.

Dissipative or conductive?
Dissipative
The dissipative tray dissipates charge in a controlled way. It is intended for the EPA and gives parts an orderly place.
Conductive
The conductive tray dissipates charges quickly via the surface it stands on. It is stated as conductive.
Dissipative/conductive
These trays are stated as both. Which property suits your process depends on your ESD concept.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between dissipative and conductive?
Conductive materials dissipate charge faster than dissipative ones. Which one you need depends on the component and your ESD concept.
