Privacy policy

This English version is provided for convenience. The German version is legally binding.

Protecting your personal data matters to us. This statement shows which data is processed when you visit this website, what we use it for and which rights you have.

1. Controller

The controller within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:

DS SafetyWear Arbeitsschutzprodukte GmbH
Deutz-Mülheimer-Straße 121
51063 Cologne
Germany
Phone: +49 221 292096-50
Email: info@dssafetywear.de

Managing director: Dennis Alexandrakis

2. Overview

This website is an information and product site. We use cookies for audience measurement only with your consent (see section 7); without your consent, no analytics cookies are set and no analytics or tracking services are loaded. There is no user account and no shopping basket. Orders are placed via our B2B shop (dssafetywear.de), for which a separate privacy policy applies.

3. Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted by Hostinger International Ltd., 61 Lordou Vironos Street, 6023 Larnaca, Cyprus. When you visit this website, our hosting provider processes technically necessary data that your browser transmits automatically. This includes IP address, date and time of the request, the page or file requested, the previously visited page (referrer), browser type and operating system, and the status code of the request. The processing is necessary to deliver the website, ensure its security and detect faults.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the secure and stable operation of the website). The data is not merged with other data sources. The retention period of the log files depends on the settings of the hosting provider and is limited to what is necessary for operation and security. We conclude a data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR with the hosting provider.

4. Contact and enquiries

When you contact us by email or phone or use the enquiry form, we process the details you give us, such as name, company, email address, phone number, your message and the selected products. We use them to answer your enquiry and to send quotes, samples or datasheets.

When you submit the enquiry form, your browser transmits the entered data to the server of this website. The server forwards it by email to info@dssafetywear.de. We do not store the entries on the server of this website; to limit misuse, only an anonymised counter (hash value, not the IP address in plain text) is held briefly for no more than one hour. The enquiry itself then sits in our email inbox. If sending is not technically possible, the page opens your email programme with a prepared message instead.

The preview in the logo print advisor is created entirely in your browser; files are not transmitted to us for it. When you submit a print enquiry, we transmit your details, the preview and, if you leave the box ticked, the uploaded logo files by email to info@dssafetywear.de. They are not stored on the server of this website. Please upload only files for which you hold the necessary rights.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where the enquiry aims at a contract or pre-contractual measures, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in answering enquiries). We delete your data as soon as the enquiry is settled and no statutory retention obligations prevent this, for example under commercial and tax law.

Saved items: When you add products to your saved items with the heart, your browser stores this selection (products, quantities and notes) locally in its own storage (localStorage). This data does not leave your device and is not transmitted to us. Only when you submit “Enquiry with this list” do we receive the details as part of your enquiry. A shared link contains only product identifiers and quantities, no notes. You can remove the saved items at any time with “Clear list” or by deleting your browser’s site data. The storage is technically necessary for the function you requested (Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG).

5. Fonts

The fonts used on this website (Geist and Geist Mono) are hosted locally on our server. No connection to servers of Google or other font providers is established.

6. External links

This website contains links to other websites, such as our B2B shop (dssafetywear.de) and the pages of our brands EarProtect, AirGuard Pro, ProSafe® Cleanroom and HI5. By clicking, you leave our website. The respective operators are responsible for data processing on the linked pages. Links to our B2B shop contain tracking parameters (for example utm_source=prosafe-esd), which merely indicate from which page the visit came; no personal data is transmitted by this website in this way. If you have consented to audience measurement, we additionally append a parameter when you move to our B2B shop (see section 7).

7. Audience measurement with Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager

With your consent, we measure how our website is used. For this we use Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”).

Purposes. We statistically evaluate which pages and languages are used, whether visitors open data sheets and documents, whether they submit the contact form, and whether they move from our site to our shop. We use this to improve content, navigation and our offer. We do not use the data for personalised advertising.

Legal basis. Your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TDDDG (storing information on, and accessing information from, your device). Without your consent, Tag Manager is not loaded, no analytics cookie is set, and no data is sent to Google.

Withdrawal. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future: click “Cookie settings” in the footer of any page and choose “Decline”. When you withdraw, we delete the analytics cookies in your browser. Processing up to the withdrawal remains lawful. We store your choice in your browser for 180 days and ask again afterwards.

Data processed. After you consent, Google Analytics records events such as page views, the page and language viewed, time, clicks on links to our shop, opening of documents, the successful submission of a form (only the fact that it was submitted, not its content), language changes, the origin of the visit, technical details (browser, operating system, screen size) and approximate location (country and region). According to Google, Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses. We do not transmit names, email addresses or form entries.

Cookies and identifiers. Google Analytics sets a randomly generated identifier in cookies (_ga and _ga_<identifier>, lifetime up to 2 years) on your device to recognise returning visitors.

Link to our shop. Our brand websites and our online shop belong to DS SafetyWear. If you have consented and click a link to our shop, we append a parameter (_gl) to the address. This lets us recognise that the visit and the purchase belong together and evaluate which pages and languages lead to enquiries and orders.

Storage period. Event data is stored in Google Analytics for 14 months and then deleted automatically.

Recipients and third countries. Google processes the data on our behalf (data processing under Art. 28 GDPR). Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA. This relies on the European Commission’s adequacy decision for the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, where Google LLC is certified, and additionally on standard contractual clauses. More information: https://policies.google.com/privacy.

Your rights. Access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority: see the sections “Controller” and “Your rights” of this privacy policy.

If you allow "Advertising (Google Ads)" in the cookie banner or choose "Allow all", we use Google Ads. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland ("Google").

Purposes. Conversion tracking: we learn whether a visit from one of our ads led to an enquiry via our form or to a visit to our shop. We only see aggregated figures, not individual persons. Remarketing: visitors to our pages may later see our ads in Google services and on partner sites. For this, Google assigns your browser to a visitor list, e.g. "Visitors of prosafe-esd.eu".

Data processed. Cookies and similar identifiers (e.g. _gcl_au and _gcl_aw), the ad click ID (GCLID), pages visited, time, device and browser, and IP address. We do not send names, email addresses or the content of your form to Google.

Legal basis. Your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) of the German TDDDG.

Withdrawal. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future via "Cookie settings" in the footer of every page. The Google Ads cookies are then deleted.

Retention. Google Ads cookies are stored in your browser for up to 90 days. Membership of a visitor list ends automatically after 500 days without a new visit.

Transfers to third countries. Google may transfer data to Google LLC in the USA. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. The basis is the European Commission's adequacy decision (Art. 45 GDPR).

More information. https://policies.google.com/privacy and https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

Not used. Enhanced conversions (sending hashed email addresses) and Google Signals.

Usage analytics with PostHog

If you allow "Statistics" in the cookie banner or choose "Allow all", we additionally use PostHog. The provider is PostHog Inc., 2261 Market Street #4008, San Francisco, CA 94114, USA ("PostHog"). The data is stored in PostHog's EU region (data centre in Frankfurt am Main, Germany).

Purpose. We analyse how visitors use our pages, e.g. which pages and languages are viewed, which paths lead through the site and where visitors drop off. We use this to improve content and usability. We do not use the data for advertising.

Data processed.

We do not send names, email addresses or form input to PostHog. Session replay is switched off.

Legal basis. Your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) of the German TDDDG.

Withdrawal. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future via "Cookie settings" in the footer of every page. The PostHog identifier is then deleted.

Retention. The identifier remains in your browser for up to 12 months. PostHog keeps the usage data for 12 months and then deletes it automatically.

Processing and third countries. We have a data processing agreement with PostHog. The data is stored in the EU. Access from the USA by PostHog Inc. cannot be ruled out. The basis is the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, under which PostHog is certified, and the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

More information. https://posthog.com/privacy.

8. Data transfers to third countries

We do not transfer personal data to countries outside the European Union or the European Economic Area, unless this is technically necessary to deliver the website. If such processing is carried out by our service providers, it happens only on the basis of appropriate safeguards under Art. 44 et seq. GDPR, for example an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses. With audience measurement, data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA after you consent (see section 7).

9. Your rights

You have the following rights towards us regarding the personal data concerning you:

Right to object: where we process data on the basis of legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), you may object to this processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation. We will then no longer process the data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds or the processing serves the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.

To exercise your rights, an email to info@dssafetywear.de is enough.

10. Complaints to a supervisory authority

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority if you believe that the processing of your data violates the GDPR. The authority responsible for us is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information North Rhine-Westphalia (Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen), Kavalleriestraße 2–4, 40213 Düsseldorf.

11. Data security

This website is delivered encrypted via HTTPS (TLS). We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss and unauthorised access.
