ESD shoes
ESD shoes dissipate charge via the sole to a dissipative floor. Without a dissipative floor, there is no effect.
Overshoes
Overshoes make ordinary shoes suitable for the EPA for a limited time, for example for visitors. The properties are stated on the product page.
Testing
A tester before entering the EPA shows whether shoe and person are correctly grounded. You will find instruments under Measuring and test equipment.
Frequently asked questions
Are ESD shoes sufficient without an ESD floor?
No. Shoes only dissipate charge if the floor is dissipative and grounded. At a seated workstation, the wrist strap remains the first choice.
Who are overshoes intended for?
For visitors and short stays in the EPA, when no ESD shoes are available.
